One fine Sunday morning I was walking around the Tsavo Ballroom at the KICC with a camera & a calculator. Of course, I went there for the cars but most importantly, the figures involved with the cars.

My jaw dropped at some stands but others made me go meeeeeehh…. Heck, some cars even had the “Sold” tag on them to mean they had been bought by people who came to the 2018 Total Motorshow.

So how much money are automakers ready to flaunt to the masses?

I went around asking the age-old Kenyan question: “How much?”

    • Renault Kenya: The Kadjar, The Duster Phase 2, The New Kwid Climber and Koleos
    • Nissan Kenya: Sentra, The New X-Trail, The Patrol Y62
    • Subaru: The XV, The Forester, Outback with Eyesight
    • BMW: The 740Li Individual, The 540i, The All New X3, X5
    • Mercedes Benz: The GLE AMG, GLS, GLC
    • Isuzu: 2 units of the Mu-X model
    • Porsche Centre Nairobi: Cayenne S
    • Bentley: Continental GT, Bentayga
    • Mitsubishi: Lancer EX, Eclipse Cross, Pajero Sport
    • Honda Nairobi: BR-V, CR-V 1.5, CR-V 2.0

  • There were more cars on display outside, but my focus was with the guys who were set up inside the ballroom.
  • Prices are narrations from the sales representatives I asked at that time. Please confirm exact figures with the respective car dealers just to be sure.
